The woven, plaid-like design of the multi-colored bricks on the building's patios reinforces the multiple connections between the campus community and external world that occur within its walls.

More about Burton D. Morgan Center

Dedicated in 2003, the Burton D. Morgan Center is named for the "free enterprise humanitarian" whose gift of $8 million through his philanthropic foundation funded the building. Serving as a new point of entry for campus visitors, the center houses a variety of academic and administrative functions and is linked to both Knapp Hall and the underground parking garage.

Designed by Graham Gund Architects of Cambridge, Mass., the design maintains the vision of Denison's original campus master plan, which was developed in the early 1900s by the firm of Frederick Law Olmsted & Sons, designers of New York's Central Park.
