A screening of “Coded Bias” will take place on October 26 at 5 pm as part of U.S. Media Literacy Week 2023. The screening will be shown in Slayter Auditorium with refreshments provided. After the screening, student respondents will share their reflections on the film.
“Coded Bias” (2020) is a documentary about Joy Buolamwini’s discovery of human racial biases in facial recognition algorithms.
U.S. Media Literacy Week is hosted annually by the National Association for Media Literacy Education. The purpose of this week is to spotlight the power and importance of media literacy in education through events and activities organized by partners across the country.
