The Spring Choral Concert will feature both the Denison Concert Choir and the Denison Chamber Singers performing works ranging from Baroque to contemporary, and classics to folk and gospel music. The Concert Choir will perform George Frideric Handel’s “Coronation Anthem,” Zadok the Priest, to commemorate the 250-year anniversary of Handel’s death. As a partner with the anthem, the Concert Choir will sing Vivaldi’s “Magnificat.”
As a contrast to these classics, the Chamber Singers will perform a series of compositions by contemporary composers, including a work for chorus and tape by Daniel Morse that was recently performed at the Tutti Festival at Denison. In addition, selections of folk music from Hungry, Finland and Africa will be performed.
