GRANVILLE, Ohio—Denison University’s new website recently was named the winner of several prestigious awards in two separate competitions. Denison’s website won Best in Class in the University Website Category from the Interactive Media Awards, which recognize the highest standards of excellence in website design and development and honor individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievement.

The college’s website also won seven accolades from the MarCom Awards, which fielded about 6,000 entries from all over the world. Denison earned a Platinum Award for Website (Web Design), another Platinum Award for Website Redesign (Web Design), and still another Platinum Award for Website Interior (Web Design). The website also earned Gold Awards for Educational Institution (Website); Website Landing Page (Campus Life) (Website Element); Website Home Page (Web Design); and Home Page (Website Element).

Perry Robinson, Denison’s vice president and director for admissions, congratulated Scott Tribble, who directs Denison’s digital strategy and development, and Denison’s digital communications staff. “Our newly designed website meets our external audiences where they communicate and collect information.” He added, “An institution’s website is rapidly replacing traditional college admission outreach, therefore, its design and content are critical to Denison’s future. We are very pleased with these impressive third-party endorsements.”

Tribble said, “We are thrilled that Denison has received these distinguished honors. The website does a great job of giving prospective students--and alumni who perhaps haven't been to campus for a while--a genuine sense of what it's like to be here. Denison's people and programs are smart and exciting, and the website reflects that. We're delighted that Denison.edu has been recognized as one of the best in the nation.”

Created by the Interactive Media Council, Inc. (IMC), a nonprofit organization of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals, the Interactive Media Awards competition is designed to elevate the standards of excellence on the Internet and offer winners a boost in marketing and exposure. Judges for the competition included industry professionals from the New York Times, Ogilvy & Mather, and Microsoft.

Entrants for the MarCom Awards included corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers, including media conglomerates and Fortune 50 companies.

The new Denison.edu was built in partnership with Code and Theory, a design and software development company based in New York.
