The goal of an idling policy at Denison University is to eliminate all unnecessary idling time by vehicles on campus to minimize harmful emissions. Implementing an idling reduction policy on campus is in line with Denison’s goal of reducing green house gas emissions.

People authorized to make purchases on behalf of the college are expected to support our commitment to environmental responsibility through the guidelines and procedures contained in this Sustainable Purchasing Policy.
Denison is committed to reducing its impact on the environment. To that end, Denison operates an extensive campus recycling program to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and to utilize resources in a more responsible manner. We recognize, however, that recycling is only one part of the issue. To move toward a more sustainable campus, Denison also must strive to reduce its consumption and waste in all aspects of campus operations.
