Denison University encourages all members of the Denison Community to abide by the provisions of copyright law. Denison's Acceptable Use Policy forbids all users of Denison's computing resources from committing "violations of copyright/civil law, including the unauthorized reproduction and use of copyrighted images and text" as well as forbidding "software theft or piracy, data theft, or any other action which violates the intellectual property rights of others".
Denison University shall be responsive to all legal requests for electronically stored information (ESI) from any recognized legal authority. The University maintains numerous logs, records, backups and other forms of data that may be requested in a litigation process. The University will not voluntarily provide any such information; data will only be released under the terms of a court ordered disclosure, subpoena or other appropriate request.
