Bandersnatch's Greatest Hits
The Bandersnatch, a student-run coffeehouse in Huffman Hall, is a key spot to chill out with friends, watch a great performance and get a yummy snack.
A beloved hangout since it was established in 1965, the Bandersnatch was founded by student musicians who still perform in a folk music group, called “The Countrymen.”
Named after a quirky character in Lewis Carroll’s poem “Jabberwocky,” the Bandersnatch plays host to poetry slams, open mic nights, spoken word performances and jazz nights — just about any kind of student gathering. And the food is delish. The Snagel, a plain bagel topped with cream cheese and brown sugar, is a Denison classic.
Abbe Kaplan ’15, operations manager at the Bandersnatch, says “The atmosphere at the ‘Snatch is brings everyone together. I want to make a comfortable environment where everyone feels welcome.”
The Bandersnatch is located next to the Huffman Service Center and is open 7 days a week from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m.
