The Tuesday Faculty Lunch Series welcomes Jessica Rettig presenting “Exploring the Biology of Small Ponds.” Small ponds are a noticeable feature on the Ohio landscape, home to a diversity of plants, invertebrate animals, and fish. This presentation showcases the biology of local ponds by sharing research experiences and data collected by Denison students and Dr. Rettig. We will learn about the biology of organisms like sunfish, aquatic insects, zooplankton, and water weeds, and consider the population and community ecology of Denison’s Ebaugh Pond and other local ponds.
