    Full Description: The Goodspeed Lecture welcomes David Haberman presenting "Environmental Possibilities in the Worship of Sacred Mountains and Trees in India." David L. Haberman is Professor of Religious Studies at Indiana University. He is an expert on the Hindu traditions of north India, and his research focuses on the intersection of religion and ecology. He is the author of People Trees: Worship of Trees in Northern India (2013), River of Love in an Age of Pollution: The Yamuna River of Northern India (2006), and Journey Through the Twelve Forests: An Encounter with Krishna (1994).

    Full Description: The Goodspeed Lecture Series welcomes Eliza Kent presenting “Accidental Environmentalists: Sacred Groves as Common Property Resource.” Eliza F. Kent is Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Skidmore College. Her research focuses on Hindus, Christians and ecology in south India. She is the author of Sacred Groves and Local Gods: Religion and Environmentalism in South India (2013) and Converting Women: Gender and Christianity in Colonial South India (2004), and co-editor of Lines in Water: Religious Boundaries in South Asia (2013).
