Full Description: Rescheduled from Feb. 5: The Beck Lecture Series welcomes Maggie Glover '05 and Page Starzinger. Glover ‘05 is originally from Pittsburgh, PA. She received her BA in English Literature (Creative Writing) from Denison University and an MFA in poetry from West Virginia University, where she received the Russ MacDonald Graduate Award for Poetry in 2007. A four-time Pushcart Prize nominee, Glover’s poetry has appeared in Verse Daily, Ninth Letter, Smartish Pace, The Journal, 32 Poems and other literary journals. Her debut collection of poems, How I Went Red, is forthcoming from Carnegie Mellon University Press in 2014. She lives in San Francisco, CA. Starzinger lives in Manhattan and has worked for thirty years in New York as copy director at Vogue and Estée Lauder. She is currently creative director for copy at Aveda. Her poems have appeared in Colorado Review, Denver Quarterly, Fence, Kenyon Review,TriQuarterly, Pleiades, Literary Imagination, Volt, and many others. In 2008, her chapbook, Un-Shelter, was selected by Mary Jo Bang as winner of the Noemi Contest. Her first book of poems, Vestigial, won the 2012 Barrow Street Poetry Book Contest, and will be published in May 2013.
