    Caldera volcano
The Geosciences Seminar welcomes Darren Gravely presenting "What is a caldera volcano? New insights from the Central Taupo Volcanic Zone."
Full Description: The Geosciences Seminar welcomes Darren Gravely from the University of Canterbury (New Zealand), presenting "What is a caldera volcano? New insights from the Central Taupo Volcanic Zone." Calderas, their associated structures, and the geometry of their pre-collapse magma reservoir(s) have been the subject of much scientific intrigue, largely because they represent the largest scale of volcanic eruptions and our knowledge has only been gleaned from ancient examples. Free and open to the public.
