    Real utopias
The Spectrum Series welcomes Majora Carter presenting "Real Utopias: From Dreams to Practice"
Full Description: Denison's Spectrum Series campus theme, "Real Utopias: From Dreams to Practice" will kick off with eco-entrepreneur Majora Carter, founder of Sustainable South Bronxs and the Majora Carter Group. Majora Carter is an internationally recognized eco-entrepreneur and urban revitalization strategist. She works to transform urban environments into “real utopias” through the creation and implementation of numerous green-infrastructure projects, policies, job-training and job-placement systems. Carter got her start in 2001 when she founded Sustainable South Bronx (SSBx) which became one of the nation's first urban green collar training and placement systems. This project was one of the policy inspirations for the recent Green-Jobs movement. In 2005, Carter won a MacArthur Foundation “genius award” for her eco-entrepreneurship.
