The Information Technology Services (ITS) department at Denison University is committed to providing the best possible computing environment for all faculty, staff and students. This includes providing:

  • Up-to-date computers and appropriate peripherals for faculty, staff, classrooms, and computer labs. Denison provides and supports both Windows and Mac computers.
  • Google Workspace for email (Gmail), calendar (Google Calendar), file storage (Google Drive), productivity tools (Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides), data collection (Google Forms), video-conferencing (Google Meet) and messaging (Google Chat/Rooms), as well as other cloud-based services.
  • A suite of standard software applications installed on faculty, staff, classroom, and lab computers (see below).
  • Additional campus-licensed academic software applications installed on all classroom and lab computers and available for download through MyDenison.*
  • A virtual computer lab provided through AWS AppStream with standard software applications and many campus-licensed academic software applications.*
  • Specialty computer applications installed on select classroom, lab, and faculty/staff computers.*

Non-Standard Software

If you require additional software essential to your work, ITS will assist you with installation and provide limited support. ITS reserves the right to remove any non-standard application if a compatibility conflict arises. Questions regarding specific applications should be directed to the ITS Service Desk.

When installing non-standard software please remember to store your data on the network, retain the original media and license, and keep the application(s) updated with required patches.
