Office of Financial Aid 2014-2015 Newsletter
It’s that time of the year! The 2014-15 online FAFSA is now available at www.fafsa.ed.gov, for those students who will be applying for need based aid and parents borrowing a PLUS loan for 2014-15.
Here are a few tips for successfully filing the 2014-15 Free Applica- tion for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and ensuring financial aid awards are finalized prior to the fall bills being generated:
- Denison School Code—003042
- File your FAFSA 3 weeks after you file your taxes so you can use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool at FAFSA on the Web
- If you cannot use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, you must request an IRS Transcript at www.irs.gov/transcript
- File your FAFSA by April 1. Complete your financial aid file by April 15 to meet the deadline to take any need based aid to an off campus program of study
If you have any questions , please contact the Financial Aid Office at 1-800-DENISON or (740-587-6279) or email@example.com
Our office will begin making preliminary financial aid award pack- ages for students who have complete files in early April. Students and par- ents will receive an email informing them to view the preliminary awards at Denison’s Self Service. All preliminary financial aid packages will be finalized after the spring 2014 grades are final and cumulative GPA’s have been cal- culated to determine the renewal of merit scholarships.
The past year has been very eventful for federal student loans. Please read carefully the information provided in this newsletter about the changes in this federal aid program.
Good luck to you as you complete your second semester of the 2013-14 year.
