Student Resources & Support
Outlook is an organization that is committed to educating the campus about GLBTQA issues and offering support to those who need it, as well as creating a safe and social space where students can embrace and explore their sexuality and gender expression. Through engaging speakers, open dialogue and social activism we strive to encourage and promote a more diverse and educated environment on and off Denison's campus.
Meetings are held Thursdays at 6:30 pm in the University Room on the 4th Floor of Slayter Hall.

Safe Zone is a peer-counseling and support network that includes students, staff, and faculty which is dedicated to addressing LGBTAQ issues on Denison's campus as well as providing confidential advice and support. The purpose of Safe Zone is to foster an environment free from oppression based on sexual orientation and to provide a confidential and non-judgmental forum for discussion of LGBTAQ issues on Denison's campus.
While Outlook concerns itself mainly with social activism, Safe Zone focuses on the personal needs of individuals dealing with issues stemming from their sexual orientation or gender identification. Safe Zone Counselors are required to attend one five-hour training session that educates them about queer issues on campus and queer identity. When they have completed training, they are issued buttons and stickers to be worn and put on doors for the purpose of visibility and identification. Safe Zone holds several training sessions per year.
