The Spiritual Life Center supports multiple student-led groups for our Christian students including Denison Christian Community (DCC), Agape, Food and Faith, and Bible Study Groups. Denison has active programs for Jewish, Muslims, and Buddhists. Students who are more broadly spiritual without a specific tradition gather in other affinity groups such as Earth Spirituality or Twice Blessed (LGBTQ). The Spiritual Life Center also holds meditation and mindfulness events, spiritual healing, and celebrates a wide breadth of sacred holidays. The staff is always willing to nurture a new group, offer spiritual direction or be in dialogue.

Several local churches partner with Denison to provide Sunday services and denominational specific outreach. Spiritual Life staff work with students to arrange transportation to worship centers outside of Granville when needed (Temple, Mosque, Orthodox church, etc.). Wednesday night Power Hour provides a midweek opportunity for contemporary Christian worship on campus. Two musical groups on Campus, Gospel Choir and Tehilla, provide additional opportunities.

The Chaplain, along with members of the Denison faculty and local clergy, serves in an advisory capacity for our student-led organizations. Leadership positions and other opportunities, such as establishment of new organizations, are available. Please contact us or complete our community survey if you do not see your area of interest listed.
