Student Meal Plans
The new 2015-2016 Meal Plans are designed to provide students maximum dining flexibility, value, and convenience on campus. We offer both Declining Balance Plans (debit dollars) and an unlimited All You Care-to-Eat Plan.
Declining balance accounts provide debit dollars to be used in all dining facilities like a debit card. Debit dollars are allocated after an Overhead charge* is assessed from the cost of the plan. Debit dollars let you select between retail offerings at Slayter Union and the all you-care-to-eat meals in Huffman and Curtis Dining Halls.
As a residential campus, all students are required to reside on campus all four years and during the first three years, unless living in an apartment, students must participate in one of the four board plans that provide at least 12 meals per week in the dining halls: The “Big Red” plan, “The Hill” plan, the “Olmsted” plan, or the “West College” plan.
Two more limited plans are available in the senior year or if residing in an apartment: the “1831” plan; and “The Reserve” plan.
Debit dollars may be used anywhere on campus and in Slayter Union before 11 a.m. and after 1 p.m., Monday – Friday, and during any weekend hours.
All you care to eat meal prices are breakfast $6.00, lunch $7.00 and dinner $8.00. Slayter Union menu items are retail priced.
Unlimited access to Curtis and Huffman Dining halls, $100 in debit dollars, with an additional thirty (30) Meal Special options at Slayter Union each semester before 11AM and after 1PM, Monday-Friday. The Big Red plan is non-transferable and is only for the meal plan participant. A worry free plan for students who require a significant number of meal options.

Declining balance plans can be utilized at all dining locations, residence halls or retail. Debit dollars are welcome at Slayter Union before 11AM and after 1PM, Monday-Friday, in order to provide retail dining for the community.

DECLINING BALANCE MEAL PLANS FOR STUDENTS RESIDING IN APARTMENTS AND GRADUATING SENIORS – 1831, THE RESERVE
The apartments are kitchen equipped so apartment residents have the option of being on a board plan or preparing their own meals, or some combination of both. These two more limited plans are attractively priced to encourage continued participation on a meal plan.

*The Overhead charge covers each semester’s non-food costs such as dining facility investments, utilities, repairs, maintenance, furniture, cleaning and other facility operating costs. The Debit dollars available to purchase meals are specifically tied to the cost of food and related labor.

One of our main goals is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. In order to meet this goal, we ask for your assistance with the following procedures:
- Please bus your dishes and disposables from your table when you have finished and don't forget to compost!
- Please refrain from taking food, dishes or utensils from the dining area.
- Remember that Meal Cards are non-transferable. Meal cards cannot be used by anyone but the purchaser.
Meal plans can be supplemented at any time with Denison Dollars, which are purchased through Student Accounts. Any unused Denison Dollars will carry over from semester to semester and year to year. Provided there are no outstanding debts to the college, any unspent Denison Dollars can be refunded at the end of any academic year upon written request to Student Accounts.
Lost or stolen Meal Cards
Lost or stolen Meal Cards can be replaced. Stop in the Service Center in Curtis (lower level) to report your lost card.
You never have to be too shy to ask for seconds with our Campus Dining Program. Our generous policy allows for a second helping of many menu favorites. All you have to do is ask! We try not to “over portion” when serving our guests, so that food is not wasted. If you would like a bit more, or even a bit less, just let us know!
