Greetings from President Weinberg
My first year at Denison has been full of wonderful opportunities. At the top of the list has been the chance to get to know our students. Through conversations over coffee in Slayter, student events at Monomoy, athletic and arts events, and students simply stopping by the President’s Office to get acquainted, I have quickly learned how our students bring a wide range of passions, talents, experiences, and perspectives to our campus, making it a vibrant and engaging community.
Denison students forge friendships early in their time here. They develop important life skills through valuable experiences in the classroom, residence halls, and student organizations. They support, mentor and challenge each other to develop new passions, skills, and outlooks. Our students are smart, multi-talented, passionate, and fun to be around. In the best sense of the words they are exuberant achievers who will do well in life.
Soon it will be time to say good-bye to some of these amazing students - the members of the Class of 2014 - as they “commence” their lives after Denison. I am excited to see the futures they will make and the impacts they will have on their communities, professions, and the world. Anne and I look forward to celebrating with the graduates and their families. But Commencement will not really be good-bye. Instead, it will be the beginning of a new kind of connection to this place where relationships are at the core of everything we do.
Congratulations Denison Class of 2014. We can’t wait to see what you do next!
