Open to the Denison Class of 2020, the First-Year Program together with Off-Campus Study offers a week-long trip to Oaxaca, Mexico, in the summer of 2017.

“Denison Seminar: First-Year Experience” will take place in Oaxaca, Mexico for 1 week during the summer of 2017. Students will study indigenous rights, identity and street art. The program is open to 15 members of the Class of 2020.

Students will meet in Columbus, Ohio, and fly together to Mexico on May 16, returning on May 22.

Students will stay in a modest hotel for five nights and with an indigenous family for one night. Meals will be provided with the program.

For financial information, please contact the Off-Campus Study Office. We hope to make this experience affordable for every student and have subsidized costs and created scholarships in order to do so.

The program application is a short Qualtics survey, which can be found here: https://denison.co1.qualtrics.com. The application for a need-based scholarship is included within the program application.
