Student Handbook 2008-2009
Denison University is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and learning and to the development of ethically responsible persons. To that end, every student who joins the Denison community is expected to take responsibility for acting in accordance with the community's standards and rules, and to report violations of those standards and rules
In addition to these responsibilities, students at Denison University possess a full range of rights. As a community that values the exercise of academic freedom and creative, intellectual expression, the University takes care to protect and support the rights of students, and promote an environment in which free speech balanced with social responsibility, peaceful assembly, and the right of petition can be enjoyed.
The Student Code of Conduct and policies that are articulated on the following pages are the result of legislative action by the Faculty, Campus Affairs Council, Senate of the Denison Campus Governance Association, and/or other appropriate legislative and/or administrative body. Changes can always be initiated through those appropriate legislative and/or administrative bodies.
