This summer, Danny Persia '14, working with Dr. Matt Neal, created some interesting and bizarre statistical methods for measuring player value in the NBA, both individually and collectively.

Danny presented his work at the 2013 Mathematical Association of America MathFest in Hartford, CT in early August. He was one of over 60 students in the the Pi Mu Epsilon student section, the national mathematics honorary society. From this highly selective group, Danny was one of a handful of students to win a $150 cash prize for the quality of his work and presentation. Way to go Danny!
