The science of clinical genetics
Clinical genetics links research to the clinic, translating advances in the understanding of the molecular basis of genetic disease for the practicing clinical geneticist. A lecture by Dr. Kristy Crooks “Cool Careers and Even Cooler Science in Clinical Genetics,” explores some of the science behind genetics.
Crooks is a Ph.D. Board Certified Molecular Geneticist and Cytogenetics Fellow at University of North Carolina. She will talk about her work in the field of clinical genetics, sharing real stories and cases with the audience. In her work, Dr. Crooks works with doctors, genetic counselors and lab technicians to help research and diagnose genetic diseases.
